John and Francimar at the Petit France area of Strasbourg

Strasbourg

Saturday brought in a new month and a new old city -- Strasbourg. Today it's where the parlimentarians of Europe meet and try to figure out if they are one or fifteen countries. We didn't get far enough away from the center of the old town to drop in on them.

Cathedral

We started (where else) at the Cathedral. Here's Francimar and John in front of the west façade -- a beautiful front but its approach is severely crowded by the encroaching buildings.

If you look closely, you'll see that John has been playing so many video games that he's now a complete stack of shifting pixels.

We have dozens of other pictures which we'll post on another page. Here's two more of the cathedral front. See if you can recognize at least one person in each of these photos:

Petite France

Old city Strasbourg is actually an island in the Rhine (like the oldest part of Paris). The Petite France area borders the canals of the west end and makes for some photo ops like that on top:

The next morning we climbed Mont Ste-Odile (OK, in a car, but we did some walking). Join us by clicking here.
