On the epistle side are the relics of St.
Silvan Martyr brought here from Rome in the 19th century.
Supposedly this is no effigy but the incorrupt body of the
saint, one of dozens so designated (but scientifically
unproven) by the Catholic Church. Maybe his eyebrow wax was
generously applied.
