This is probably the interior of the south wall showing the white Bračian marble arches looking through to the sea -- interrupted by later stone and window work. Many Croatian tour guides brag that the marble from the United State's White House (perhaps now it can be renamed the "rainbow house") came from the Dalmatian islands. It didn't (although even the New York Times was fooled about that for a while.) However, the neo-classic architecture revival which gave that and many other federalist buildings their style came through Robert Adams from this villa in Split.
