Zagreb, Croatia -- Atop one of these market buildings we find a flower market with an unusual statue of a busker with a noose around his neck. This is Vanja Radaus's statue of the minstrel Petrica Kerempuh playing for a condemned man. Somehow the musician inherits the noose -- probably as part of the trickster's ruse in a tale from Croatian folklore. Most squares have statues and generally, the newer the statue, the more physically accessible it is.
