Nantucket -- Nantucket has several nesting pairs of Ospreys; that's no surprise as the breed is designed as a fish catcher. As I approached with muted lens, the male tried to lure me away while the female stayed to protect the nest. Artificial habitat such as these have been found to nurture more chicks than nests found in trees. Unlike many humans, these birds mate for life. Like humans, the females like a guy who can build a big nest.
