Nantucket -- Siasconset was settled as a fishing village in the 17th century but some of the buildings are older, having been moved from other parts of the island.It's name means "place of great bones" in the Wampanoag dialect. Islanders elide the first syllable and pronounce the name "sconset (rhymes with Quonset hut.)
