Tuesday, September 6, 2006 at the Sol duc River Trailhead about 40 miles from Port Angeles, Washington and 1950 feet above sea level: Here we are at the start of the annual brothers death march. This year's trip was to the Olympic National Park Reserve at the far northwest corner of the lower 48. Brother Paul organized the trip into three parts to sample the diversity of the nearly million acres in this mostly protected reserve:
- The Alpine hikes (three day backpacking trip on the 18.2 mile loop)
- The Pacific seashore (lots of beer and creature comforts)
- The Rain Forest (with some rain)
