Yosemite National Park, California 2008 -- A closeup of Grizzly Giant base. Sequoia gain their maximum height (about 250-300 feet) in their first 800 years but can grow for 3000 years, adding (like humans after puberty) to their girth each year. This tree is thought to be 1900-2400 years old. Under good growing conditions, A Sequoia will gain a foot in girth every hundred years.
