Nantucket -- This stitched picture does not do justice to this vast open space supported by mortise and tendon post trusses. The windows are three sash units and the pews are original. The organ was built by the Boston master William Marcellus Goodrich. But the pièce de résistance fooled me. Only when the docent (who was a professional photographer) told me, did I realize that the great ceiling dome is superb trompe l'oeil. (Pardon my French.)
