True story: when I first saw these, my knowledge of minimalism was quite minimal. I asked our guide (a foundation intern) if these were pill boxes from the days of the army fort -- but only because I couldn't imagine such a large sewer being installed in this dry desert. She didn't seem too shocked by my question, as if she gets it from Philistine visitors all the time. (Or maybe she thought it was my own lame April's fool joke.)
