Nantucket -- The portrait above by Pollard Limner is of Jethro's bride, Mary Gardner Coffin. Their marriage was a Romeo-and-Juliet match between two feuding clans made up of the original families who tried to restrict grazing on the commons (9 full sharers) and those who came after (called the half-sharers who each got 1/54th.)
